Well what can I say about these two!  Matt and Jason, brilliant fun, awesome was another word thrown around a lot and we loved every minute of planning their wedding in Barcelona!

Right from day one, I knew this was going to be a very special and fun wedding.

After presenting different venues then narrowing them down to the final choices,  Matt and Jason flew out to view their wedding venues with Petra, they knew instantly the Torres del Leones was the perfect venue and worked with their envisaged wedding style.

I first met Matt and Jason in person at their food tasting a few months later,  from that day on I knew this was going to be a wedding filled with humour.

Whether I am intimidating, I don´t know, but they were obviously trying to be on their best behaviour but they had me giggling the whole way through our lovely time spent together and I was delighted to get to know them better, understand their dream day and thoroughly enjoyed their wit and wonderful sense of fun!

As the wedding planning continued, sadly after the Brexit the pound plummeted leaving them tighter with their healthy wedding budget, so we worked with M & J to scale back certain things without compromising and Matt was brilliant at sourcing things which he shipped over to me ready for their wedding.

July arrived and with great excitement I set off on one of my now famous road trips for Barcelona, I would like to say in my tiny white van (as in No 1 Lady Detective) filled with confetti but in this case it was my Silver Sportage filled with sparklers, sweets and glassware!!

Our first night together in Barcelona was at the meet and greet after a very funny rehearsal. Both M and J had wives walking them down the aisle and the whole crowd who gathered for the wedding rehearsal were just hilarious.  I think what also struck me that evening was how loved they both were and what a wonderful network of friends and family were there supporting them, it was magical to watch along with some rather nice G & T´s.

The next morning we were up early and at the venue making sure everything was being set up and providing our own props for the day including a fabulous You are Awesome sign (of course!), a wooden heart guest book, an overloaded with sugar candy bar, various signs, sparklers and making sure all the tables were set out with love hearts and napkin details.  It was extremely hot preparing everything, even the tealights on the tables were melting and we had to try to move them into the shade!

We just kept flying into the one air conditioned room in the venue where Matt was going to be until the wedding started.  I have been known to stand in walk in fridges so this was quite a luxury!

After a beautiful ceremony with some heart felt readings from good friends, the guests were treated to a cocktail hour followed by a dinner in the courtyard beautifully lit with overhead festoon lighting and fairy lights.  We added in some fun ideas such as the massive confetti bombs and smoke bombs for some photo opportunities.

I have been to many weddings, obviously!, but what made this wedding stand out for me was Jason´s speech, I was mesmerized, which for a wedding planner takes a lot.

It was a brilliant, articulate speech which reduced the whole wedding party to tears, including me, as he spoke of his family, coming out, how welcoming Matt´s family had been, his support from his brother and then he spoke about his wonderful father who was no longer here, this resonated with me of course and this is what made me well up as I listened, having lost my own amazing father.

They talked about the wonderful family they had, sharing such special moments and looking forward to creating new memories as a married couple in their new home, it was truly brilliant.

As you can see from the photos it all went downhill rapidly after this!!  Much partying, great band and DJ, photo booth and loads of bad dance moves probably bought on by a sugar rush :)!

We are still in touch and after a busy few months with a new puppy, new house and settling back down after their wedding we are delighted to receive this wonderful testimonial from them.

Huge Congratulations to you guys, you really were awesome and looking forward to cocktails in London!! xxx

Our thanks to all the wonderful suppliers who helped make this dream come true and to Sean at Wedding Photographer BCN for these wonderful images

Reviva Weddings were quite simply fantastic in helping us organise and host our wedding. We chose Barcelona as the destination because it’s where we got engaged, but neither of us knew where to start when it came to planning the Big Day.

Enter Petra and Laura, the superb team who helped us plan every detail to perfection, from start to finish.

At every stage of the process, Reviva gave us the details of just the right number of suppliers, giving us a good choice without it ever feeling overwhelming. What’s more, they’d got our “style” for the wedding nailed from the outset; that meant it became so much easier to choose options and suppliers, because we knew everything was in line with what we wanted, and it was just a case of choosing the best from a great selection.
Throughout the months leading up to the Big Day, they guided us through the process brilliantly, ensuring we were keeping on track without it ever becoming stressful. They answered our (what was probably 100s of) questions, they gave us great recommendations and advice, and they were always positive and helpful. It was so reassuring, particularly as we were dealing with a post-Brexit wedding where the exchange rates kept changing and the original budget we had set aside for the event needed to increase. It was really great to see Petra negotiating with suppliers on our behalf, always trying to get the best deal.
On the day itself, we couldn’t have asked for anything more from them. Laura and Petra handled every aspect of the logistics, being ever-present but in a quiet and reassuring way. Whatever we wanted, they helped us; whenever we had a question to ask, one of them would be there to help.
The wedding was everything we wanted – a perfect venue, out-of-this-world food,  first-class entertainment and truly beautiful decoration.  Petra and Laura at Reviva were a huge part of making that happen, and we’re so grateful to them. They made us feel so looked after, and like we were friends of theirs getting married, not just clients. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.
