On the 11th April, the threatened rain disappeared and the sun shone for our Luxe Botanical Styled Shoot at the beautiful location of the Hacienda Nadales in Malaga. The week leading up to the styled shoot was spent constantly checking my phone weather app but was reassured by Jeremy with his very hi-tech swirling cloud app it would be fine, and it was

I couldn´t be happier as we woke up to blue skies and sunshine.

I had fallen in love with these stunning botanical gardens on a recent venue viewing and instantly knew this would be a wonderful setting for a styled shoot. There is a very magical air about this venue, birds singing, dancing, dappled sunlight and just a very peaceful space, I love it.

Styled shoots never just happen, it is usually a series of events coming together at the right time that spurs me into action, I can only describe it as a starburst moment and suddenly all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle fit!

Firstly I had been working with the very talented Sam and Helen from Bloomfield Photography quite closely on various projects and our elegant wedding styles are so similar we wanted to create something together.

I also have the delightful Fiona here, on her internship, it is important for me to teach my students as much as possible and a styled shoot is always lovely as it teaches other areas of running a wedding business, escaping the laptop, email trail and excel spreadsheets!

It is also a great way of showing how you can create styled imagery branding for your business. As I approached collaborators for the shoot everyone said yes, which was amazing, even the director of Hacienda Nadales said yes which was a first apparently!

My idea quickly escalated as we got so many suppliers on board and, as it was going to be a fabulous shoot, we decided to open it up to just 6 workshop tickets. I also run another business called the Business of Weddings where I train and coach the wedding industry, so hosting a workshop for up and coming wedding planners, stylists and teaching about Branding your Business totally ticked more boxes!

We had so many gorgeous details for our shoot, even a wedding car decided to show up! I cannot thank all the hugely talented suppliers who worked with us on this shoot enough, it was much more than I imagined.

We created a few areas, a very on-trend hoop as a focal point in front of the most beautiful tree with a gorgeous backdrop of the botanical gardens.

I wanted a slight boho style as a contrast to the stately building, formerly a hospital apparently, yet suited the magic of the gardens really well. The dress and outfits were carefully chosen to reflect both styles and I think they combined beautifully.

The table setting was beautifully styled by the girls attending our shoot and we used slightly stronger colours of Mediterranean Blues and Emerald Greens. I had provided lots of accessories and props for the table and you have to agree their choices were perfect, the end result was stunning.

We created a few different areas, a beautiful chill out area and macrame backdrop creating more gorgeous backgrounds for these stunning images.

Our very own James Bond clutching his cocktail, not sure if he tested it!

This beautiful cake designed for us by Alyson´s cakes was set up in front of an exquisite handcrafted macrame background and later we moved the cake to present it in front of the emerald green velvet chillout sofas as the colours blended beautifully.

No shoot is ever complete without a cocktail, I bought these cocktail glasses from Casa, I dried some orange slices in the oven, added a few handpicked sprigs of rosemary and blueberries just adding the final details to these Botanical Gin and Tonics and they did not last for long!

I have Helen documented on Jeremy Standley´s wonderful film footage as the silent, yet guilty, cocktail slayer! Actually, I was quite happy hanging around the styling table too!

After the shoot Helen also created some wonderful flat lays and styled images to add more content and send to our hugely supportive suppliers, it seemed a shame to let their products go without taking more images so we had a studio styling session just afterwards. Any excuse to go and see Helen and Sam over one of their wonderful lunches and Fiona was just delighted with our styled flat lay shoot afternoon, she loved it and came away buzzing!

I hope you enjoyed reading about our latest project as much as we enjoyed creating it before the wedding season arrives and we are all flat out again creating our wonderful clients’ weddings.

If you wish to see more ´behind the scenes´ pop over to read all about it on my Business of Weddings Website as I document the day and what our students enjoyed.

I would like to thank the following collaborators for joining us on this wonderful styled shoot, that trusted me and believed in me.
