After just six months of planning the magical adventure of Fabiola and Lincoln’s wedding with Firefly Experiences the journey began right here in Ronda, on a gorgeous August summer evening, at the most enchanting place I have visited for a long time, Los Pilares in Ronda.

If you haven’t visited, you really must go. It is a piece of heaven on earth and so quirky with peacocks wandering around the gardens and two lovely fat white ducks in residence. I fell in love with this place and visited it many times this year.

This was the first location for the celebratory welcome evening as we started Fabiola and Lincoln’s wedding celebrations. The fantastic catering was provided by the venue who provided lots of beautifully presented food platters of cheese and nibbles.

Fabiola and Lincoln are based in Goa and also Portugal, so this wedding was a blend of Indian meets Catholicism with their Portuguese roots.

After a lovely evening, wedding preparations were well underway the next morning. The bridal party and the groom’s party got ready in two separate beautiful stunning country homes located around Ronda.

When everyone was ready they all headed into the historical town of Ronda where Fabiola was met by a horse and carriage to take her through the town to the fabulous church, the Iglesia de Santa María la Mayor. This was her dream for her wedding and despite a stomach churning moment when she turned the corner it went like a dream!!

After a beautiful service, Fabiola and Lincoln had a few photos taken around the town then headed off to their wedding reception. I love all these images of Ronda as it perfectly sums up what a Spanish style wedding is. I know the couple had spent a fabulous time in Ronda previously and this was their dream to get married here.

This fabulous setting was ready to greet them and their guests as we had transformed the area with the most gorgeous fairy lights, chandeliers, and florals, as you read on you will see how magical this setting became at night, we still call this our Lion King Wedding!

As guests arrived from Ronda they were treated to the most spectacular sunset, I never tire of them here in Spain and was delighted nature was doing it’s thing for this wedding, maybe now you can see why we called it the Lion King Wedding!

As darkness fell the evening celebrations started with a cutting of the cake and a floral pinata, filled with petals, which almost knocked the groom out! Every wedding needs this sort of story!! The cake cutting was followed by an hour of delicious canapes and drinks.

Guests were then invited to sit down for their meal that had been designed by Lincoln who is a restauranteur, amongst other things, which I found really interesting. The food was beautifully executed by Gusto Catering.

The magical lighting was designed and created by Silvia at Marbella Parties and totally made this wedding just wow and I loved the florals by Anais Floristeria.

Lucinda, who owns Firefly Experiences, had designed the aesthetics of her brother’s wedding and it was beautiful, Noe Events provided the furniture and tableware including the charger plates, glassware and gold cutlery.

Lucinda added in some lovely details to make sure her brother’s wedding was going to look amazing and it did! Pretty gold candles, gorgeous hand cut acrylic gold place names, but the best thing were the table names, they were portraits of the family’s dogs with their names etched onto wood, it was such a lovely personal touch to this wedding.

After some lovely speeches the party began with music from Moove.

This is my first wedding ever where it finished early actually, the temperatures dropped and it really got quite chilly even for August, Ronda’s natural air conditioning system apparently. But everyone was tired after a busy day and such a wonderful meal and were ready to rest ready for the celebrations the next day.

The final day was a relaxed and informal Spanish paella party with traditional Indian dress. Gusto rocked up with a great paella party and guests relaxed whilst being entertained by more music from Moove.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the suppliers who worked with me on this wedding, you were all fantastic and to Lucinda who was such fun to work with, lastly but not least the beautiful, graceful and fun Fabiola and her new hubby Lincoln, you were all amazing and I really enjoyed our time together.
