As travel begins to open up there are still restrictions in place. Including having to have a Covid, PCR test when you are returning to your country.

Two people have asked me about tests recently. Therefore thought it best to do a blog post and just refer everyone to here instead!

My family are finally here and I got to meet my twin granddaughters who are utterly cute! It was very touch and go right up until they left. Even with a flight change coming here and a flight change going back this coming weekend to a day later.

They travelled from London, UK, which is still currently on the Amber list, so they all require a PCR test before departure and will have to quarantine upon their return.

They also have to have two more tests done. One on Day Two and another on Day Eight when they return to the UK.

Most airlines currently won’t let you fly unless you have already booked and paid for these returning tests too. When you re-enter the UK it is important to make sure your travel arrangements are all covered

MAKE CONTINGENCY PLANS IF YOU TEST POSTIVE

Do ensure you follow the rules in Spain, mask wearing is compulsory here in all outside spaces. Not just when you pop into a shop, which I know is unlike many other European countries. Just this week I have seen many tourists wandering around without masks. If you do not wear a face covering you could be fined.

If your test is positive then you won’t be allowed to travel until you have a negative test. Do be sensible, stay socially distanced, wash your hands and be aware we are still dealing with a pandemic. Do make contingency plans if you have to stay until you test negative and can travel.

My family haven’t been socialising whilst here. We are very much in our bubble with a few visits out to restaurants and into the Old Town of Marbella.

WHAT TESTS ARE AVAILABLE IN MARBELLA AND WHAT DO I NEED?

There are a few types of tests, the Rapid lateral flow antigen test which is 39 euros. This is a quick test and you will receive your results within 24 hours.

The RT PCR test, this is the Covid 19 test and fit to fly, it costs around 99 euros.

Then you have the emergency RT PCR test which means your results will be ready within 24 hours should you need to fly quickly.

My family require the Rapid lateral flow test to return to the UK, which is accepted with British Airways.

Here is a link to the website they booked their tests on at DAM HEALTH, one recommended by British Airways.

OTHER RESOURCES TO BOOK YOUR FIT TO FLY COVID PCR TEST

My super organised friend, Fay, over at My Guide Marbella has also put together a list of companies offering the Covid tests around the Marbella area.

You can follow this link to My Guide Marbella, to see all the other companies who are currently offering the Covid test service in Marbella.

I hope this information helps you, Marbella is definitely getting busier now, a few hoops and uncertainty still but definitely worth it! It can only get better. If you would like more information on hosting your wedding or event in Marbella then contact us.
