It is not often I post about things like this but I do feel after the past few months that I need to sound my voice on a subject I had not really experienced before but wish to share it with you.

Our jobs, as wedding planners, means we meet people from all walks of life, some very wealthy in terms of life and money, others planning delightful weddings on a budget and sadly I have done weddings for terminally ill people. (more…)

The long awaited cooler September weather arrived today much to the delight of all the people who live and work in Southern Spain, we had fresh winds, even some rain, lots of yays on Facebook and even considering cardis and boots!

Rocking at La Cabane, Los Monteros!

September 3rd, 2015 Posted by Beach Weddings in Marbella, Elegant Weddings in Spain, La Cabane Los Monteros, Wedding Suppliers on the Costa Del Sol, Wedding venues in Marbella 0 thoughts on “Rocking at La Cabane, Los Monteros!”

Here at Reviva we do create many fantastic memorable weddings and one of my absolute favourite no fail combinations is a beautiful ceremony at the stunning Encarnacion Church in the quaint Old Town of Marbella followed by a chic and sleek stylish party at the jaw dropping La Cabane.  It is a win win situation!

Michelle and Gordon wanted this perfect wedding scenario and what fun we had planning and designing their dream day with them, they were an absolute delight to work with and we enjoyed every minute of working on their wedding and post wedding beach party.

It was a pretty hot day here at the end of June as the heatwave started to rack up and hit Southern Spain and the temperatures rose into the 90’s, it got worse after this, that is another story but it was hot enough for the centrepieces to mist up as the temperatures were so high!

Michelle and Gordon had friends and family flying in from all over the world to join them in their celebrations and celebrate they did.  We created some cool ideas such as the Man Corner and the Glo Bar which sadly Jeremy missed for the photos, so he is now hanging his head in shame but has been forgiven as they were later in the night.

Michelle said she loved seeing the glo bunny ears and glasses later popping up all over the place and it was such a fun idea.

Despite probably many hangovers the party continued the next day hosting a paella and BBQ evening at a local chiringuito which I understand finished about 5am!

Our congratulations to Michelle and Gordon and again a huge thank you to all our professional suppliers without whom we could not execute such wonderful days.

Drum role!  Alex Harrocks for superstar wedding hair, Sweet Things by Fi for the gold leaf wedding cake which I did not get to eat, test or even sniff, Sarah Howard Duo for fabulous cocktail music, Legal Aliens for seriously rocking this wedding!  Along with the ever talented Reviva girls, Isabel, Jess, Rocio and moi 🙂

Thank you to Jeremy Standley for his amazing images and allowing us to share such a cool wedding!

Happy Easter!

Summer arrived early this year with temperatures hitting 37 degrees yesterday in Seville!

This weekend we are closing our offices for a few days and we are also very excited to welcome our Easter weekend wedding to Spain.

It is going to be a weekend of beautiful blue skies and sunny days as our clients celebrate their marriage overlooking the Mediterranean.

We would like to wish all our clients, suppliers and friends a very Happy Easter and hope you get lots of chocolate 🙂

You can never fail to fall in love with this venue, La Cabane at Los Monteros Hotel.

Located by the sea in one of the most prestigious areas to the east of Marbella it ticks all the boxes and certainly has the wow factor!

I should really do this blog post in two parts as there are so many gorgeous photos to share with you but I do know many of our clients for 2015 are dying to see our September weddings and so here we are finally as they start to drift in!

We were delighted when Frank and Ailish contacted us to help them design and plan their wedding here. Living in Australia meant they needed a lot of help with their wedding preparations, planning and design as they invited their guests from all over the world to join them on their special day.

And what a special day it was too as you can see from the photos, from Anna at Limelight Photography, the end results were amazing, gorgeous and a lot of fun.

Ailish and Frank were a delightful couple and truly easy to work with quickly making decisions and knowing exactly what they wanted.

We designed a blush and gold themed wedding with lots of fabulous details from the lemonade greeting station to the beautiful tables, linens, gold chairs, cigar bar and lots of sparkle.

It is also lovely when the couple can get involved, even from afar, and Ailish sent over a goodie box full of extra personal touches for their day including love votives, initials, cute confetti cups and fans.

All the suppliers involved were amazing and we would like to thank Kathryn Parr for hair and make up, Ian Preston and Quike for the entertainment, Sweet Things by Fi for the beautiful wedding cake and all the miniature cakes she created for each guest, to the staff at La Cabane and of course Anna Gazda from Limelight Photography for these fabulous photos.

We hope you love this wedding as much as we do and our congratulations to the delightful Ailish and Frank, thank you for allowing us to share such a special day with you, your family and friends.

A Wedding Day in Marbella for Sale

October 13th, 2014 Posted by Adopt a Wedding, Beach Weddings in Marbella, Cancelling a Wedding, Getting Married in Marbella, Wedding Venues in Spain 0 thoughts on “A Wedding Day in Marbella for Sale”

It is not often a wedding day gets cancelled but it does happen sadly from time to time, either a family problem or illness or just that the couple have decided they are not ready or cannot make that final commitment to each other.

Sometimes life is not a fairy tale but what happens to a wedding day that has been in the planning for over a year with deposits paid, fabulous venue and suppliers booked and key times and dates secured.

We currently have just had some sad news that one of our weddings for next June has decided they no longer wish to continue with their wedding.

This morning I was thinking about this and that I must now contact all the suppliers, venue and church to cancel everything and lose their deposits paid but then had an idea.

Surely there must be a couple looking to get married in Marbella, on a very popular date in June 2015 and would happily take over this wedding and pay a sum to the client to secure everything they have prebooked and worked on so far.

The wedding day is at the most popular church in Marbella followed by a wedding reception for 100 guests at one of the most stunning beachside venues with some fabulous suppliers already booked including photographer, DJ and entertainment.

If you would be interested or know someone who would like to adopt a wedding please do contact us on laura@reviva-weddings.com.

We assure all discretion whilst dealing with this delicate subject but it seems such a shame to throw it all away and seems a great deal for someone who is just thinking about hosting a wedding in June 2015 in Marbella.

A Happy and Beautiful Beach Wedding in Marbella!

August 12th, 2014 Posted by Beach Weddings in Marbella, Norwegian Weddings in Marbella, wedding planners Marbella, Wedding Stylists Spain 0 thoughts on “A Happy and Beautiful Beach Wedding in Marbella!”
We have created many weddings here in Spain and I do love Happy Weddings!

An ode to Pharrell Williams and our very own rather fabulous Marbella Happy Song, this beautiful beach wedding we planned and created was nothing short of Happy and we loved it!

Hanne and Eivind contacted us last year to help them organise their dream wedding day at their favourite venue.  They were immediately surprised to hear their venue was located just at the bottom of the hill where I live!

After purchasing their Spanish piece of heaven vacation home a few years ago, they have spent many magical moments and memories at this delightful beach restaurant which is literally on their doorstep, as well as mine!, and of course it had to be their perfect wedding location to share their special day with close family and friends.

Living in Norway, with very busy lives, Hanne and Eivind realised they needed help to pull this together, whilst they had their dream venue, everything else needed to be put into place and organised for them.

We set to and worked with the venue, who are not a wedding venue but a beach restaurant, and created a wedding plan including a pre wedding fiesta style party in Hanne and Eivind’s community bar and a post wedding lunch and also to style and design their wedding day and parties they were hosting for their guests during their stay here.

We used happy flowers, simple coral gerberas to compliment the bridesmaids dresses and some amazingly huge white peonies, scented rosemary and we also picked some of Hanne’s favourite yellow flowers from the beach with the most aromatic smell, very reminiscent of the beach and difficult to describe, with all these beautiful flowers we created the tablescapes along with simple glassware, white candles and silver mercury tealights.

Hanne and Eivind have a treasured family logo from his parents that is also their initials so Hanne had a stamp created that we used on the tags for the tables and also as a projected logo for their wedding day.

We hung lots of beautiful silver mercury glass lanterns from the trees and the beach was lined with bamboo torches.  The celebrations continued well into the night with sky lanterns and fireworks.

And what a dream it was, I loved everything about this wedding, Hanne was such a happy person, so warm and full of charm.  Her voice is beautiful and I loved chatting to her on Skype, I have since spoken to my Norwegian neighbours who have told me the singalong voice is very Southern Norway apparently and I found it lifted me just listening to her beautiful voice!

A touching and beautiful sand ceremony was conducted by Eivind’s brother followed by a cocktail in the gardens of this gorgeous location.  Dinner was held by the sand dunes and the children were happily playing all night on a well lit beach.  There were so many magical moments from the sky lanterns to the fireworks and of course much dancing, good Spanish food and merriment!

Our thank you to Joseba and Mar from Romance Weddings for sharing these fabulous photos with us, to Carla for organising everything so beautifully, and our congratulations to Hanne and Eivind, such a charming couple, for trusting us to organise and style their magicial beach wedding.

A huge well done to me for being able to type this blog post with a very sore thumb that is now almost twice the size of my other one so also feeling happy!!

Bougainvillea Inspirations for Weddings in Marbella

April 2nd, 2014 Posted by Beach Weddings in Marbella, My Inspirations, Pink Weddings, Styling Weddings in Spain, Weddings in Marbella 0 thoughts on “Bougainvillea Inspirations for Weddings in Marbella”

After a dreary day in Marbella with wet stuff falling from the skies, we thought we would share this glorious summery tablescape with you found on Alchemy Fine Events.

We stumbled upon this fabulous inspiration whilst working on one of our wedding designs with a bougainvillea theme and love the Moroccan influence with the gold lanterns and stars combined with the coloured glassware, those beautiful gold shells, pink napkins and lots of loveliness!

After a month of being ill and longing for warmer summer months this was the perfect pick me up!

Pierre Richardson Photography

August 4th, 2013 Posted by Beach Weddings, Beach Weddings in Marbella, Romantic Ideas, Trash the Dress, Weddding Photographers in Spain, Wedding Suppliers on the Costa Del Sol 0 thoughts on “Pierre Richardson Photography”
We recently had the pleasure of working with Pierre Richardson Photography
in June at one of our weddings.

Pierre´s photo journalistic style combined with an eye for art produces some beautiful images that have earned him recognition within the wedding industry and have been featured in many publications and magazines.

I love being able to see what inspires people, particularly anyone in the art industry and Pierre´s inspiration and soul is beach, I can spot this a mile away as it is also mine!

The fact he lives in Tarifa as well is a dead give away and any of his clients that book Pierre for their wedding will also have the opportunity to visit Tarifa, near his fabulous home, for an hour´s beach shoot complimentary with his full wedding photography package.

With all the latest hype on the trash the dress shoots I could not think of a more perfect setting than on the white beaches of Tarifa, with the backdrop of the African continent, for a more romantic place to trash that dress!

To find out more about Pierre Richardson do pop over to his website or his Facebook page and we hope we will see more of Pierre on our blog with some amazing trash that dress photos!

New Fairy Godmother of the Costa Del Sol

January 23rd, 2013 Posted by About me, Beach Weddings in Marbella, Fairy Godmother of the Costa Del Sol, Marbella, Running a business in Spain 0 thoughts on “New Fairy Godmother of the Costa Del Sol”

January is not one of my favourite months, it is coldish, all the sparkly things have been put away, we are all supposed to stop eating chocolate, embark on diets and everyone seems to be wearing tracksuits and trainers :)!

All of us super women should by now have completely reorganised our storage in every cupboard, have a spotlessly clean house, be attending the gym twice a day, creating super, culinary, lean, healthy meals, given up the coveted glass of well earned wine and still of course be working and looking after our children.

We are also embarking on our newly prepared household spreadsheets, managing to budget and balance the books, finding cheaper utility suppliers (which in Spain do not exist!) and generally tidying everything up and preparing for another year which will descend into the usual chaos around Easter when we can eat chocolate again :)!  Better still Valentines Day which is now only 21 sleeps away!!

I also find if something can go wrong it will in January, so can you imagine my horror the other night when my dearly not so beloved emptied a glass of wine over my computer, he has not given up the wine or embarked on a diet and is very accident prone.  My heart and computer died and not so beloved partner escaped a near death.

But along came a Fairy Godmother in the tiny shape of Fay at My Destination Marbella.

Fay recently, and very romantically, became engaged to a wonderful man called Mark and I was supposed to be meeting Fay for a pre wedding chat but I knew I had to get my computer and work sorted out asap.

I was in a state when I sent Fay an email in the morning.  My state is usually a very calm quiet moment with lots of swear words ringing around my head of which there were quite a few followed by some louder swear words on this occasion 🙂

I have to hand over my Fairy Godmother of the Costa Del Sol title now to Fay, I think we could start something here!

As soon as Fay heard about my predicament she efficiently starting waving her magic wand for me and her fabulous team of techies, including her H2B, at My Destination Marbella had rescued my computer and all it´s contents within 12 hours.  Never have I been so impressed and grateful.

My Destination is a global travel resource that is powered by a diverse community of hundreds of local experts. Passionate about providing the best value for money, they work closely with the global partners whilst supporting local businesses. As a result, they make travel experiences inspired, more enriched, and quite simply, better.

Reviva Weddings are featured on there as well in their services section, it is well worth popping over to have a look as there is so much information about Marbella.

So now added to my already long January list is to make sure I am even more super efficient and back up my computer every night!  I have been told 🙂

I am also hugely excited about Fay and Mark´s wedding which will be held on one of our fabulous beaches here in Marbella, so watch this space!  It will be my turn to wave my magic wand again!
