Fabulous Indian Wedding in Marbella Part One

It seems such a long time ago in a cooler April that we planned and styled the fabulous Indian Wedding of the utterly charming Shamir and beautiful fun Jigna.

We are now delighted to receive the most amazing photos from Nani de Perez who beautiful documented all the events leading up to the big day.

We have so many wonderful images we are going to share them over two blog posts starting with the Welcome Evening, Sangeet, and pre-wedding Garba party with plenty of spectacular outfits, dancing and, deep sigh, many pairs of fabulous shoes and very sparkly jewellery!

When I first spoke with Jigna and Shamir they were already underway with their wedding plans, they had booked the venue, two stunning villas located just near Villa Padierna hotel, and were looking at various suppliers to help them put together all their wedding details.

We were first hired to oversee the decoration but as my relationship with Jigna developed she decided to hire us to oversee the wedding planning and organisation as well. Jigna and Shamir are based in the States and Canada and they had hit what I call the planning wall, it was becoming difficult for them to finalise all the suppliers and put an cohesive itinerary into place and this wedding did need on site management to see it through smoothly as well.

After one pre wedding visit to do food tastings, hair and make up and meet with the suppliers everything else was finally put into place for a 4 day wedding extravaganza!

The first day was spent having a pre-wedding photo shoot in the charming old town of Marbella and down on the beach.  Then it was back to the villa to welcome the first of their guests with a cocktail and canapes by the pool serenaded by a jazz duo.

Luckily this was due to finish quite early as having been keeping an eye on a rather dark cloud, the heavens decided to open so the amazing Fiestasol catering team, quickly whipped in the dessert buffet inside of the villa and everything else had pretty much wrapped up allowing the last of the evening to continue whilst it poured outside.

The next morning the sun was out and Jigna was up early for her Mendhi, resplendent in a gorgeous pink and gold Indian outfit.  We decorated the conservatory of the villa with the same colours and created lots of areas for the girls to have their henna art.  This day was more relaxed with a casual brunch and a family BBQ and I think the younger ones headed down to Puerto Banus for some partying!

The following day was the pre-wedding Garba party accompanied with plenty of drumming and dancing in the marquee, it was a fabulous evening starting with a beautiful Indian dance by Shamir’s sister, we were quite entranced by the whole evening and thoroughly enjoyed watching the events.

Tomorrow we will share the amazing culmination of these days of celebrating with the actual wedding day, we cannot wait to share these photos with you!

Our thanks as always to our brilliant team of suppliers who helped us pull everything together including Nani de Perez for these photos and Fiestasol Catering for their rather fabulous Indian food.

Fabulous Indian Wedding Celebration in Marbella

We are so very excited to share a sneak preview of our fabulous Indian wedding last week here in Marbella.

Everyone knows I adore glitter and I was treated to such a wonderful array of the most beautiful outfits and so much sparkle I was in sparkle heaven!

As our beautiful bride, Jigna, married her handsome and utterly charming Raja, Shamir, we planned and decorated each event from the welcome party to the Mendhi, followed by a fantastic Sangeet evening with some wonderful dancing and last but not least the most amazing wedding day.

These beautiful photos were sent to us today by the hugely talented team at Nani de Perez so we had to share!

We cannot wait to see the rest of this fabulous wedding and our congratulations to Jigna and Shamir whom I hope are now having a lovely rest on their honeymoon.

An Indian Wedding in Malaga by Reviva Part 2

We are delighted to share Part 2 of Karin and Rishad´s fabulous wedding held here in Malaga just in time for the weekend.  Following on from a fun filled pre-wedding party the actual wedding day arrived greeted by a gorgeously hot summer day in Malaga with cloudless blue skies.

When you thought a party could get no better, it did!

The celebrations began with the ceremony on the patio of the Hacienda La Biznaga held under a beautiful white canopy to keep the guests shaded from the hot August Spanish sunshine.  Refreshing lemonades and waters were given to each guest as they arrived and a paddle fan with the Order of Service, beautifully designed by Nulkinulks, was placed on each chair.

The ceremony was followed by a cocktail including an ice cream van to help keep the guests cool and the Hacienda La Biznaga provided lots of delicious canapes.

All the table seating plans were hanging from the courtyard lanterns and created a beautiful magical effect as they were designed as circular hanging garlands which I had seen on a previous photoshoot by Nulkinulks and wanted to use for Karin´s wedding as I knew she loved hanging garlands and flowers.  The menu was handwritten by Isabel onto a large blackboard in gold and purples, which is always a fabulous idea to save printing menus for every place setting for a larger wedding party.

Dinner followed inside the Hacienda where we designed a more contemporary Sex in the City theme using a gold and purple colour scheme for the wow factor.
The venue was washed in purple lighting and tall glass cylinders topped with purple and white orchid arrangements bought the room to life.   We used gold chairs to pull the colours together and each napkin was tied with a purple ribbon.

The party well and truly got underway with music and lighting from Nigel at Chez Vous and a delicious cake designed by Sweet Things By Fi along with some gold glitter dusted fortune cookies, of which I did not steal one 🙂
We would like to thank all the suppliers who were involved with this wedding and Dan at Chennergy Photography for these photos allowing us to share this fantastic wedding with you.

An Indian Wedding in Malaga by Reviva Part 1

I am not sure where to start with this fabulous two day wedding celebration for the most wonderful and charming couple, Karin and Rishad.

What a ball we had and what fun planning, styling and organising their wedding here in Malaga during the hazy, hot summer month of August.

But let´s start at the torture inflicted on Rishad as love these bits of our weddings! 🙂

The poor lads had to brush their teeth with Wasabi paste, drink Tabasco infused drinks and have their legs waxed, to name but a few torturous tests the scheming bridesmaids had come up with. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the groom and his male entourage being put to the test with some well thought out games by the not so well meaning bridesmaids to win their brides!!

But we start this two part blog post with the pre wedding celebrations of a wonderful Sangeet and Mendhi evening at the Palacio de Monte Miramar.

Such a fabulously fun evening to start the wedding celebrations.
Our thanks to Chez Vous for the lighting and chill outs and to the fabulous venue Palacio de Monte Miramar for hosting such a wonderful evening and to the guests for providing such fun dances and entertainment.

Our gorgeous images are courtesy of the famous worldwide photographer Dan Chennergy from Belgium and we will be blogging part two of this wedding very shortly to share with you!

Indian Wedding Inspirations in Marbella

January 24th, 2012 Posted by Indian Weddings, Inspiration Boards, Reviva Weddings Exclusive Weddings, Styling Weddings, Wedding Cakes, Wedding Decorations, Wedding Trends for 2012 0 thoughts on “Indian Wedding Inspirations in Marbella”
As Indian Weddings take Marbella by storm, we thought we would share some of the inspirations we are creating for our weddings.
The explosion of colours used for Indian weddings are glorious and here we have created a more cohesive look to our weddings by keeping to a heady mix of beautiful colours.
Ivory, gold and red are a hugely popular colour combination, mix this in with a fushsia and yellow and a dash of purple creates a vibrant combination.
We have kept one of our designs to just using a peacock colour theme of purples, turquoises, aquas and golds but throwing in a touch of orange for the reception tables.
There are so many glorious details from floral elephants, embellished gold confetti cones, lots of lots of bling, particuarly this year with the latest rage for metallic wedding cakes and we love the idea of using slightly different textures and fabrics to bring different elements into creating our Indian wedding styles.
