Tonight I am curled up on my terrace, watching lightning flashing over Morocco and have also read it is snowing just behind me up in the hills behind Marbella. What a diverse and wonderful part of the world I live in and am so embracing the winter season as the clocks went back last night.
Cosy knitwear, fluffy socks, winter food, endless tea, winter beach walks, I just love it and of course the build-up to Christmas! Yes, I am one of those Christmas freaks that will be dying to put the tree up once Halloween has finished but will have to sit it out for November at least!
This weekend was our last wedding of 2018, it was my styling and floral service, when I finished I was so happy with what we had created, it really was beautiful. There is always so much preparation for a wedding beforehand and to see it come together on the day always gives me a huge sense of satisfaction, especially when it is so magical.
I was delighted today to receive a Whatsapp from the venue, Hi Laura, Everything was perfect last night, thanks so much for everything!
Then from my clients, Hi Laura, thank you so much for making it an amazing day. Mojda and I thought the decoration was wonderful. (Good for a bloke text!)
How uplifting is that, simple, kind messages made my Sunday and I am truly grateful, although I have to say I was already buzzing knowing I had created such a magical wedding. I kept looking at everything we had set up in awe and have hundreds of rubbish photos on my iPhone so will have to wait for the pro photos from Agata Jensen!
2019 for me now is almost fully booked as I only take on about 20 weddings each year which is super exciting, I have 4 weekends left and already working on 2020 weddings too.
Although it may seem a long way off Spain has become so fashionable for destination weddings that couples will find the majority of the popular wedding venues, planners and suppliers are now fully booked for 2019, certainly during the weekends during our wedding season.
This will be my 13th year creating weddings in Spain and over the past 4 years, having earned the now rather famous title of the Fairy Godmother of Weddings, I have been fortunate enough to have coached and mentored some wonderful interns, wedding planners, and suppliers within the wedding and creative industry, due to this demand has naturally led me to start my new business, The Business of Weddings.
It has been a year in the making and I decided to launch the website on my birthday, a week ago, as this seemed a good a time as any and creating a business is like having another baby! You watch it grow, nurture it, observing the ever-changing developments and constantly keep up with the pace!
I love nothing more than helping people create their dreams, with a keen eye and a creative mind combined with the business skills I have learned over the years I know my knowledge and skills are hugely valuable to anyone wanting to start in the wedding industry and already have my first two business clients booked.
If you would like to read a bit more do pop over to my new website.
I hope you all had a great weekend too and enjoy our Halloween week, I personally cannot wait for it to be over so I can do Christmas things, I far prefer sparkle, snow and glitter any day over blood, gore and ghosts :)!
