Well, what a week it has been since the WHO announced we had a pandemic and Spain declared a state of emergency followed by what was a very rapid lock down due to the Corona Virus.

I thought I would come on and write a little blog post about the current situation here in Spain and how we are getting on.

With over 300 days of glorious sunshine each year in Marbella’s micro climate we are fortunate enough to be one of the most popular holiday and wedding destinations in Europe.

Marbella is synonymous with glamour and glitz, it is a mini California and once you step away from the widely publicised bling you will find one of the most sophisticated, stylish, beautiful towns in Europe.

Wow is all I can say about this wedding! It was fun, epic and amazing! There of course is a story behind this one as I had the weirdest of years with my weddings this year. My clients had booked a fabulous beach villa but it was one that got slapped with a court order after playing music outside at night. It was fine for smaller weddings but I had two large weddings booked at this venue and there was no way we could host the weddings at the venue after this happened.

After just six months of planning the magical adventure of Fabiola and Lincoln’s wedding with Firefly Experiences the journey began right here in Ronda, on a gorgeous August summer evening, at the most enchanting place I have visited for a long time, Los Pilares in Ronda.

If you haven’t visited, you really must go. It is a piece of heaven on earth and so quirky with peacocks wandering around the gardens and two lovely fat white ducks in residence. I fell in love with this place and visited it many times this year.

I love the summer mornings here in Spain when you know the day is going to be a hot one, it has a magical quality in the air before the heat sets in. People scurry around getting things done before it gets too hot and this of course involves buying bread and stopping for a cafe!

This year has been quite kind to us, yes it is hot here and I have spent the summer with wet hair and constantly dabbing myself down but I can’t say I have suffered extreme heat apart from an August wedding in Seville!

I always love theming up our weddings, not just the decor, but the food and drinks.

Coming from a family that celebrates any event going, yes even Eurovision themed nights, it is no wonder I have always loved hosting parties and my job is creating weddings and celebrations. It is deep rooted!

My gorgeous sister is also the proud author of her latest book, the Rose Cocktail book which you can buy on Amazon, and it is full of delicious Rose drinks and cocktails. Her book was a big seller this summer with over 10,000 copies sold since its publication in May 2018.

Aine contacted us with just 6 months to organize her wedding having seen our work and a previous wedding she loved on our blog at the stunning Casa Guardiola. (more…)

Our 2018 wedding season started with one of my famous road trips to the cosmopolitan town of Sitges.

After a year of planning, emailing and chatting I was really excited to be finally meeting Whitley and Francisco as they had never visited Spain and I could not wait to see what everyone thought of the country I fell in love with as a small child!  The fact they had taken a huge leap of faith, after abandoning their wedding plans in the States, made it even more awesome they were jumping onto a plane to host their wedding in a completely different country! Everyone keeps telling us business owners we have to shout out about us, what we are (erh a human!), what we do (plan weddings and make them look amazing!) and our lives! (mine is pretty boring!)

So as I sit here patiently waiting for Santa to arrive before I can go to bed, I have been reflecting on the past week. (more…)
