Here at Reviva Weddings we are super excited to be entering 2019 and finishing the planning of many of our gorgeous weddings this year.
We are also still getting lots of enquiries which is amazing, but with only a few dates left we are now turning weddings down which is a shame, but we do always recommend other planners we know and work with.
2020 is also really busy so if you are considering a wedding in Spain I would recommend you start planning as soon as you can.
Here in Spain, Christmas has well and truly arrived, the shops are full of decorations, supermarkets are proudly presenting their hanging jamons, the famous Spanish turron is stacked high and every conceivable roundabout and walkway is planted with poinsettias.
It is so festive, Spanish style, I just love it!
Spain is a very popular destination wedding country with its fabulous weather, super easy access from all over the world and I just love and totally connect with my clients that adore this country as much as I do and want to host their weddings here.
One of the things I love most about our weddings are the speeches. I have listened to some amazing ones during my 12 years of wedding planning. Some are hilariously funny and others really thought-provoking and tear-jerking.
Your wedding speeches are one of the highlights during your wedding day, they connect your guests as they listen to stories, they gain more of an insight into your lives with your family and close friends and it makes them happy they are celebrating your special day with you. Speeches do bring a closeness and warm fuzzy feeling into the dynamics of a wedding day. (more…)
Today I will cover the popular beach venues and what to consider when you are looking for a beautiful ceremony and reception overlooking the Mediterranean sea.
Spain is a diverse country with the Costa Del Sol and the coast of Barcelona being the two most popular beach locations for weddings but the two coastlines are totally different. (more…)
During the Christmas and New Year holiday many couples will become engaged and start thinking about perhaps hosting a destination wedding.
Over the past 10 years Spain has seen a huge increase in destination weddings for a number of reasons. (more…)
Nestled in the hills between Mijas and Fuengirola with stunning views over the coastline, is the location of an extremely popular restaurant which has been running for years, the Valparaiso.
Since 1984 Valparaiso´s charismatic owner, Raffaele, has welcomed hundreds of famous people to his establishment and as you enter you are whipped back in time to the glamour of the 80´s and 90´s.
The walls of the reception are adorned with framed photos of famous faces who have frequented this restaurant from James Hunt, the racing driver, to Cilla Black and more recently the Beckhams. There are so many famous faces it is really quite a sight to see.
The charming restaurateur, Raffaele, works his magic to make sure visiting his restaurant is a romantic experience and always hands out red roses to the ladies, me included! Often during planning this wedding I rocked out of there with a red rose between my teeth!
It is very rare and probably never happened before that I have posted such a blog post but I am so angered by this situation so here it is in black and white and for everyone to read in the big wide world of the internet in the hope that word gets out and about of this utterly ruthless couple who are currently plaguing and taking the piss our of our wedding world. Excuse my French!
Our Wedding World, as we like to call it here, is a very close knit community. All the venues and suppliers know each other and we are like one big family, with a few exceptions, and we look out for each other.
Together, with Lucy from Boutique Weddings, one of my good friends, we set up a closed Facebook group about 2 years ago, purely for all the wedding suppliers here in Southern Spain.
As many of our followers know we are not just Wedding Planners with excel spreadsheets, although of course we have these and like to make them look pretty 🙂
With a background in interior design and retail merchandising, I am an experienced wedding stylist and I work with our clients to ensure their imagination is perfectly translated in preparation for their day. I don’t just turn our clients over to a florist and other suppliers to pull off a look in the hope you will get the dream day you imagined.
This past week Spain has had a heatwave, which is unusual for the middle of June, but temperatures have risen to the 40’s inland and over 30 on the coast. This, my lovelies, is shade temperature 🙂
Many of my past clients have said to me “don’t worry we have nothing but clouds and rain here and are looking forward to seeing some sunshine and blue skies”.
Well this ain’t pleasant sunshine and blue skies, this is searingly fierce heat, it is like being locked in a sauna for the day!
